97! What a good number.
The sun it out (here), the cheese is plentiful, I had fresh radishes in my garden, and my puppy hasn’t done anything dreadful for a whole day!
Is there any good television at the moment? Save me from continuing to watch Sugar please and shoot me some recommendations below.
READ
Two novels I really enjoyed reading but felt a little jilted by their endings — Euphoria by Lily King (anthropologists, love triangle, 1930’s) (recommended by Joanna in a previous edition), and The Centre by Ayesha Manazir Siddiqi (secret society, multi-linguists, identity, creepiness).
I thought The Familiar was going to be everything I wanted in a story, but it fell flat.
The word addlepated.
Why brand consistency makes or breaks a brand.
Trying to wait until my hold comes up on Libby, but I’m so desperate to read Miranda July’s new novel All Fours.
“I didn’t want to tell you because I didn’t want you to be weak about it.” So you think you’ve been gaslit?
LOOK & LISTEN
New Vampire Weekend albums are always growers, but I’m playing it all the time.
This house down the street that I always through was a little spanish house, and turns out it is a super-designed house. Still want to live there.
Gifted this iconic bumper sticker (above) from my buds Stacey and Sam, here for the Lana lovers. Also spotted this one yesterday in the wild, for the RAM lovers.
DO & BUY
I got a sun plate when we were in Austin recently. I put all my vitamins on the plate in the morning and it makes the task feel enjoyable.
I had a bit of a moment, felt uncomfortable in everything I own, and got a bit carried away at Doen. Yes, it’s pricey — but I always wear their pieces into the ground and always feel good in them. First up, this perfect dutch blue dress that makes me feel like I’m in a renaissance painting. Next, this gingham number that works just as well with a puffer and sneakers as it does lady-like vibes. And this black shirred dress, that feels a little fancier but still super comfortable. No, I don’t need you to tell me they all look the same.
An unhinged cheese pairing (I’d like to try).

I acknowledge all Gabrieleño speaking people as the Traditional Owners and custodians of the land on which I work and live in Laurel Canyon; as well as the Nunukul, Ngugi, and Gorenpul people of Quandamooka; and the Wiri, Barada Barna Kabalbara and Yetimarla, Yuibera, Birri-Gubba and Kungalburra peoples of Ilbilbie where I was born and raised. I pay my respect to Elders past and present, and to all first nations people.
Wow that house
I watch very little television, but was absolutely blown away by Baby Reindeer and can't recommend it more highly. It's one of the most brilliant shows I've ever seen.
